Opening the bottle, you get that unmistakable aroma of ghost chiles (if you can keep yourself from sneezing, LOL). Tasting this chile powder on its own, the initial flavor is the fruitiness of real ghost chiles, and then the heat kicks in. A lot of chile powders lose the fruitiness that fresh chile peppers have, but this powder actually still has it. For me, that's a sign of a great quality chile powder. Ghost chile heat is pretty intense and it definitely kicks in big time shortly after the fruitiness. Disliked that it came not completely full as it seems like it leaked before packaging, the seal was broken and I'm missing about a fifth of the bottle, the other smaller bottle I got of the carolina reaper was completely full and seal intact so I know this one was not full
