Easy install and fits
Previously my BF's bathroom had a cracked seat that was getting worse and pinching my butt/thighs every time I'd get up after doing my business. He's not a very handy type of guy when it comes to things like this (unless it's computers and software), his father passed away 6 years ago, and his mom didn't see the need to replace the seat (I don't know how she doesn't have the same problem as me! Or she kept it to herself...). So, I took it upon myself to replace it because along with the pinching, I was paranoid the whole thing would split completely soon.Originally, I was looking for an antimicrobial one, but I realized it's really not that hard to use a Clorox wipe on it every now and then if that's what I was worried about. Stumbled on this listing and the Delta version. Both are basically the same thing, but IIRC, the Delta's light is 9 hours on instead of 10. I thought it was funny and interesting that they made toilet seats with nightlights nowadays (where were these in the 90s when I was little?!).Installation took me less than 20 mins, including removing the old seat and cleaning up the area around the old hinges. The instructions were minimal, but it's mostly common sense. I was surprised that the light has three intensities: High (battery lasts 6 mos), Medium (I'm assuming the battery would last 10mos as instructions only listed for High & Low), & Low (battery lasts 12 mos). I put it on Medium at first and it's a nice glow, but my "MIL" (basically) and BF got a kick out of the nightlight so I changed it to High. Battery pack is easy to remove and replace, but the power/intensity button is a bit stiff to press. Both Lid & Seat are slow close. My seat closes like it's going to slam at first and then catches itself and slowly descends. I'm not sure if that's what others experience too, or if I maybe need to tighten the hinges? As long it doesn't slam, I'm pretty okay with it.The seat is comfortable too, haha. The hinge latches are truly "Easy Latch", once the anchors are installed and seat is positioned properly, you rotate each lock ring on the hinges counterclockwise and then close the caps.Oh, also I put this on a Elongated Toto toilet and it fits.I kind of want one for my house now...

This is #3
I like the quality of the seat. The light is a bonus. I would buy it without the light. Closes without slaming. Easy to remove and clean. It’s different from my first one where you just pulled the seat towards you to remove. This now has to be unlocked and lifted off. I liked the old design better for removal but I still like the seat.

High quality and easy installation
Fits my Koehler Santa Rosa elongated toilet perfectly. Easy to install. Took me 10 minutes. The fact that it does not slam is great. Works perfectly. Light is a nice feature as well. It is not cheap plastic like the below review states.

Mixed improvements over previous version...
Had the previous revision from this one where the quick release slid off away from the toilet. Broke one of the tabs by accident and had to replace with this [updated] version.A. Can't use previous hardware to install. No issue with that.B. You will break your fingers if the installation hardware doesnt thread properly the first time and you reach under to try and grip the nut while using an electric screw driver.. Yeah, it'll literally break your fingers, so use a plain old screw driver or hold the back with channel locks or something.C. To do the quick release, you will need the strength of 20 min all having eaten their spinach. Im a strong dude.. I fuddled with the quick release locks and tried to pull straight up but it didnt budge. I took the whole thing off and inspected it. I couldnt get the quick release out even with it all disassembled. Finally, figuring I could just return it if I broke it on install, I assembled it back on the toilet, unlocked the quick-release, and pulled up with all my might! I mean "you're about to get a hernia" power! Finally it snapped up and off. I inspected it, but it seemed fine (didnt break). I snapped it back on and locked it down.Although the upgrades like the battery caddy and light lens all being one unit is nice. The lugs holding the unit down are a pain to install. Pulling the unit up to clean will be a mixed bag. Overall the seat is sturdy, and the light works well!

Soft touch toilet seat
Highly recommend this toilet seat. I do not like toilet seats that slam closed. This one closes on its own very slow an quite. It also has a light for night time. It is made from a heavy plastic that is high quality and does not chip and easy to clean. Also easy to install. This is my second house that I have used these in.

Sturdy. Well Built.
Much sturdier than the earlier version. Rubber washer inserts keep the seat from sliding around.

life changing!
Even the Wife likes it - just enough light to properly aim...

Needs LOTS of Improvement.
I had high hopes, but came back after 2 years and took away a star. Would like it MUCH better if it were photosensitive and just came on automagically if it's dark. I do NOT like the 7-hour timer: WTF, y'all, it's dark outside for longer than seven hours! And you have no control on setting an exact time - you have to "reset" it AT the time you want it to come on every day?? No control at all. M'kay. It feels cheaply made - it's a thinner plastic. Also do not like the 'quick release' hinge system as it just seems doomed for failure there. If you are a heavy person: this will NOT work for you unless you sit very still on the potty; if you move around, you WILL rip this thing off the hinges. I do not expect it to last long and will be shocked if it does. It's not terrible, but I am disappointed. - 2 years later, still disappointed AND the light doesn't work at all now. The batteries got to where they barely lasted a month, then it just quit lighting up at all. Also see the review about it NOT Being WATERPROOF. Liquid gets INSIDE the light mechanism. Pretty sure that's a death knell you hear.If they improve it, I might try it again. Wanted two - one for each bathroom, but I'm glad we only went for one. Save your $$ and buy a cheap light that goes under the rim. 2 years after purchase I see on their website that Kohler has extended the timer to a whole 10 hours, but you still have no real control over setting it. Still no photocell.

EXACTLY AS ADVERTIZED!
bought a new seat at the local hardware store. you know, trying to support local business. well it was a cheap thin plastic affair that would not stay still on the rim, matter how hard you tightened the bolts. got this KOLHER one for about the same price and the light was an unexpected bonus. sturdy and stable and a snap to install. the quick release feature makes cleaning a breeze. delivery was next friggin' day, how can you beat that. love the new seat.

The Best " Round " Toilet Seat with a Night Light
I did not get paid or receive anything for my review. I personally purchased and paid for this item at Amazon.ca.In the world of ROUND toilet seats wth a Night Light you currently only have two choices. This Kohler Cachet or the Delta Faucet and both are excellent and available at amazon.ca. The Delta Faucet is a quality made toilet seat but the Night Light is only about one half as bright as the Kohler Cachet. I know this because I own both brands. The Kohler Cachet is my first choice in a ROUND toilet seat and is an " AMAZON Choice " and it's a little lower in price than the "Round" Delta Faucet Toilet Seat.We have had Kohler Cachet toilet seats with a night light for many years and we never had one single issue with any of our Kohler Cachet toilet seats. The batteries last for approximately 3 months and the automatic timers have all worked flawlessly. The new seat ( this model ) has a new lighting system and is much brighter. The light is still blue and It still takes the 4 AA batteries ( not supplied ) and the light is brighter because this newer model has a " clear plastic lip " that shines the light downwards into the water and under the seat and out the back ( see photo of clear plastic lip ). The night light will let you know when it's time to change the batteries because a RED light will appear. The Delta Faucet round toilet seat only has a 1 inch by 1/2 inch light window under the back portion of the seat that only reflects light straight down into the bowl . As previously stated, its not as bright as the Kohler Cachet but it is sufficient. This seat is as well constructed as the old model and has the same silent close mechanism and the same two rubber bumpers at the front of the seat to help prevent the seat from moving. The white colour of the Kohler seats is very close match to the American Standard white toilets and the two colours compliment and blend well together. The quick release system works absolutely great. just flip up the plastic squares that cover the seat bolts and pull the seat straight towards you and it effortlessly is removed for cleaning or the changing of the batteries. This quick release hardware that attaches the seat to the toilet is the best I have ever seen or used. The toilet bolts that attach the seat to the bowl appear to be either stainless steel or nickel coated and you can either use a Robertson or a Philips head screwdriver to tighten the quick release black squares to the bowl. These black square plastic pieces that the seat slides into are also very unique and are also made of a very durable plastic. The hole is not dead centre in these black pieces and each has a + sign on one end. With the hole being off-centre gives you the ability to slightly adjust the position of the seat length ( a little more or a little less ) by rotating them. Just leave the bolts slack enough that you can easily turn the black square plastic pieces and either keep both the + signs towards the tank or both the + signs towards the bowl. Try both positions and then determine what position looks the best for your model of toilet and then tighten down the bolts. I find the Red handled or #2 Robertson Head Screwdriver works best for this task. The grey plastic pieces that attach to the bolts are also very unique ( see photo ). They are also made of a very durable plastic and are tapered and generate a perfect fit regardless of the size of the holes in the toilet. The tapered portion faces towards the bolt and these plastic wing nut style attachments also have one side of the wing nut that is longer and larger than the other. This unique design allows the wing nut to jams against the toilet bowl once you start tightening down the bolts. The Kohler Cachet toilet seat with quiet close and night light is solid in construction and looks super great. The new night light is a plus and the quiet close is exceptional. Kohler has the best quick release system I have encountered to date. I hope you enjoyed my review and it was helpful.

Great product overall
Very easy to install; pls be carefull with the lightning system, it has a plastic protection that breaks easily.. that was the most challenging instalation part, after placing the baterries and putting the lightning system back at its place. (make sure it is secured & doesn't fall when turning the product for the instalation).
